MC Services

Planning an event is a big job. My role is to make the front-of-room part feel easy – warm, sharp and completely under control – so you can focus on everything else that matters.

So, here’s what I actually do, how I work with you, and answers to the questions I’m most often asked.

Corporate & Gala Events

Awards nights, galas, milestone celebrations and end-of-year events where the stakes (and the heels) are a little higher.

I keep the room moving, the timing tight and the tone just right. From serious moments; acknowledgement of country, to ensuring names are pronounced correctly; the correct protocols and titles are employed, to the fun, off-script lines everyone laughs at more than they thought they would.

Service Types

Community, Education & Charity

Australian Citizenship Ceremonies, School, TAFE and university ceremonies, fundraisers and festivals.

These events often come with big hearts and big emotions. I’m able to create safe spaces for personal stories, families, lived-experience speakers of complex or difficult subjects, and handle dignitaries with correct protocols.

Conferences & Panels

Business events, summits and conferences where you need someone to hold the through-line of the day; stay on-task and on message.

I’m there to welcome delegates, introduce speakers, moderate panels, manage Q&A sessions, and make complex content feel more human and accessible.

Voice Over & Scripting Support

Often, the story starts well before your guests enter the room.

I can deliver script direction, editing and polishing; draft sponsor and partner acknowledgements; record video intros and event stings; corporate narration and pre-recorded content.

Why people book me

Meticulous preparation & structure

From run sheet to pronunciations, I map the tricky content so the event feels smooth and looks effortless, even when it’s mentally dense.

Comms pedigree

High-level comms experience means I know how to land a message, not just fill the gaps between segments. I shape the narrative, not ‘read the script’.

Stage & broadcast fluency

Proficient with complex systems - autocue, AV teams, live music and Auslan interpreters – I speak ‘back of house’ as confidently as I do ‘on-stage’.

Roomcraft & people-first hosting

I read the room quickly, know when to lean into a moment or move it on, and make sure every guest feels seen, welcomed and included.

Warm wit & sharp timing

I keep the room engaged and focused on your event with humour that’s calibrated to the room.

How it works

  • You send through your event details using the enquiry form or email. I’ll come back to you with availability, a ballpark fee and any key questions. Once matched, we lock in a brief call.

  • During our call we talk through your event shape, the run sheet, audience, speakers, stakeholders and the tone you’re aiming for.

This is where I listen hard: what does success look like for you? What are the areas you need the most support with? Is there sensitive material or relationships you need me to handle? Are there any areas that are absolutely no go?

  • Here I shape or polish your scripts and introductions and meter the key announcements through the event.
I streamline the run sheet so it flows naturally and the event can breathe. Build in sufficient time guest restroom breaks, and breaks from any mental load. I also build in moments for sponsors, VIPs as well as the ‘surprise and delight’ moments, so they feel natural and light.

  • I arrive early, participate actively in sound and lighting checks, checking staging and AV cues. I introduce myself to your key personnel and any guest speakers, and give them a ‘heads up’ before each cue. I walk the space to understand the time people need to get to the mic if they’re speaking, and tweak the length of the intros accordingly. I work closely with your producer(s), AV team and interpreters (if required) so everyone is singing from the same song sheet.

On mic, you can expect warm wit, sharp timing and a steady, calm presence at the helm – even if things change behind the scenes. I roll with fast changes in real time and help calm any unexpected turbulence. Fire drills, alarms, evacuations are all handled by me with your event lead. You’re in safe and experienced hands.

  • If it’s helpful to you, I’m happy to debrief what worked well and what we’d tweak next time.

Many of my clients book year after year, so I consider every event as the start of a long-term relationship, not a one-off show.

Your Questions, Answered

  • I specialise in corporate and community-facing events: awards nights, gala celebrations, conferences, summits, panel discussions, fundraisers, graduations. If your event has a stage, a story to tell and a person important to you in the room, that’s my lane.

  • I’m based in Brisbane / Meanjin and regularly work across South East Queensland. I’m also available for interstate and rural/regional events, with travel and accommodation quoted separately within your package.

  • As a guide, Corporate MC engagements generally start $3,000 + GST for a standard evening or half-day event in Brisbane. Because every event has a different run sheet and prep load, final fees are quoted to scope (duration, briefing/scripting, rehearsals and travel). Enquire for a tailored quote.

  • No – it’s one of the main reasons clients book me. I can do it all if you want or need me to. I can:

    • Shape or polish your scripts and intros

    • Weave sponsor acknowledgements into the program naturally

    • Refine your run sheet so it feels smooth on the night and still runs to time

Some clients send me a full draft, others a dot-point brief – I’m comfortable with both. You tell me what level of help you need, and we go from there.

  • Absolutely. I’ve worked with Auslan interpreters, accessibility teams and within disability sector events for many years.
I’m comfortable adjusting pacing naturally for HOH guests, cueing interpreters and working with your team to make sure all guests feel included.

  • For peak periods (end-of-year functions, awards seasons and major conferences), I recommend booking minimum 6 months ahead where possible. That said it’s always worth asking – sometimes we can make magic happen!

  • Yes. As Creative Director of Bassline Entertainment Group, I’m connected with some of Australia’s premier live acts. If you’d like to explore live music options, feature entertainment, through to pyrotechnics, alongside my MC services, I can make recommendations or build a combined package.

  • Yes, selectively.

My core weekday work is in the corporate, gala and community space, but I do take on a limited number of weddings each year if the fit is right. If you’re enquiring about a wedding, mention that in your message and let’s book a chat.

Something else? Pop it in the enquiry form and I’ll come back to you.
