My story

I’m Bernadette – the MC behind QueenBee MC.

I’ve spent my life with a mic in hand and stories to tell: first in Brisbane radio and newsrooms, then as a media advisor, communications strategist, and speechwriter, crafting words for people in high places. Somewhere along the way I realised my favourite part was never a title – it was translating big ideas into moments that land with real humans.

After the birth of my children, I made a sea change into events. Now, as Creative Director of Bassline Entertainment Group, I bring that mix of journalism, high-level communications and live performance to the stage as an MC as well as providing end-to-end event solutions.

What does that look like on the night? A room that feels warm and inclusive, an event that runs on time without feeling rushed, and a host who has done the work long before doors open.

I’m at home with autocue, complex AV and broadcast-level systems, live music and Auslan teams – and I care deeply about everyone in the room feeling included.

That’s what QueenBee MC means to me: warm wit, sharp timing and a steady presence at the helm – with just enough sparkle to keep the hive buzzing.
